SV MARYSOL & The Zero Waste Navigators

The Crew

Sonja and Niels from Germany have been living aboard their sailboat Marisol since April 2023, accompanied by their two dogs, Yuki and Carlito.

Before setting sail to explore the world, Sonja ran two Zero Waste Shops in Hamburg, which shaped their commitment to minimizing plastic waste on their journey. They make it a priority to avoid single-use plastics, always bringing along their reusable containers—and they have plenty!
