recycling workshops for schools during WetterWasserWaterkant event

In September 2024, In Mocean had the incredible opportunity to participate in Hamburg’s WetterWasserWaterkant event for the second time. With over 400 diverse sessions offered, we were thrilled to represent grassroots recycling solutions and share our passion for tackling plastic pollution. Our recycling workshops for school classes, combined personal storytelling, an exploration of global plastic pollution, and hands-on recycling activities. They provided students with practical tools and fresh perspectives, inspiring them to see that even small steps can lead to significant change.

Women Collaborate for Community Plastic Recycling in Chiapas

In Chiapas, Mexico, In Mocean has partnered with Finca Hamburgo in March 2024 to launch Re-Creativa, a community plastic recycling workspace. Through workshops and hands-on training, locals are transforming plastic waste into beautiful, functional products—creating both environmental impact and economic opportunity. This collaborative project is paving the way for sustainable waste management in the region, inspiring a movement of creativity, self-sufficiency, and positive change.

transforming plastic waste is fun

In May 2023, In Mocean had the privilege of hosting educational recycling workshops in Belize City and Guatemala City in collaboration with the German Embassy in Guatemala. These workshops were part of the "EU & You" Event in Belize and the "Festival Cultural Paseo de la Sexta" in Guatemala. Here's how we turned these events into opportunities to educate, inspire, and enable individuals to rethink their relationship with plastic waste.

One important step in the fight against plastic pollution is to create awareness about the possible solutions. Especially in those areas where people are heavily affected by plastic trash. That`s why we started a crowdfunding in 2021 to outfit eight sailboats with mobile plastic recycling machines. Our Recycling Fleet has now started to demonstrate the potential of small-scale plastic recycling around the globe.
