It is 2.30am in the morning and the volunteers are coming back from their night patrol. They walked five kilometers along the wide beach of Rio Oro to look for fresh turtle nests and hatchlings.

For a long time, the beaches of the Las Perlas archipelago were closed due to Covid-19. Since a while now, it is possible to visit the islands again and we finally get the chance to engage with the local communities.
